I am submitting this to the Train Your Brain Contest! This is one of the best contests I have seen in a long time. Tuition to go to art school would be a dream come true for me and it is something I would not be able to provide myself, so here goes nothing!
This was a painting I made for my Dad, who recently went through chemo and radiation treatment. I wanted to portray a sense of calmness, compassion, and hope in her expression. The ribbon is a symbol for neck cancer, red and white. The purpose of this piece was to give my dad the strength he needed to finish his treatment. I am happy to say he loved it and we are also donating a copy of it to the Kelowna General Hospital. I hope you like it too.
